GOVERNOR’S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE: Flags to fly at half-staff in memory of astronaut John Glenn

HONOLULU — At the direction of the President of the United States, Gov. David Ige has ordered that the United States flag and the Hawai‘i state flag be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and upon all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai‘i National Guard in the State of Hawai‘i, on Thursday, April 6, until sunset. This action is a mark of respect for former astronaut and longtime U.S. Senator John Glenn, on the day of his interment.

Glenn died on Dec. 8, 2016 at age 95. Funeral rites will take place at Arlington National Cemetery.
