WHAT: Bill signing: HEALTHCARE
SB2298 Relating to Healthcare Preceptor Tax Credits
This bill provides tax credits for advance practice registered nurses, pharmacists, and physicians who volunteer as instructors in supervised clinical
training rotations for students. The training enables students to obtain eligible healthcare professional degrees or certificates. This bill aims to
encourage preceptors to offer professional instruction, training, and supervision to students and residents seeking careers in healthcare, with the
goal of building capacity for clinical education at in-state academic programs, and increasing the number of healthcare providers in Hawai‘i.
SB2653 Relating to Chapter 453 Hawai‘i Revised Statutes
Establishes requirements for licensure by endorsement for physicians, surgeons, and osteopathic physicians. Aims to establish
access to quality medical care and overcome geographic barriers.
