HDOT News Release: Single lane closure on Kuhio Highway in Princeville and Hanalei for road maintenance
Posted on Jul 20, 2018 in Latest Department NewsHANALEI, Hawaii – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be performing roving single lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in the Princeville and Hanalei areas daily between 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. Monday, July 23, 2018 through Friday, July 27, 2018.
Traffic will be alternated in the available lane through the roving closures, which will begin from the Princeville Shopping Center to the vicinity of the Dolphin Restaurant, weather permitting. The length of the closures for the roving work will be kept between 500 to 750 feet to minimize impact to motorists.
The roving closures will allow the use of heavy machinery for annual vegetation overgrowth trimming. HDOT has scheduled this work in July to complete it prior to the start of the school year. Area residents and visitors are asked to allow for extra travel time and to use caution while driving through the roadwork.
