Governor’s Office – News Release – State employees on Maui, Lanaʻi and Molokaʻi granted administrative leave as Tropical Storm Olivia nears the islands

David Ige signed a memorandum granting state employees on the islands of Maui, Lanai and Molokaʻi administrative leave as the state prepares for severe weather resulting from Tropical Storm Olivia. State offices on Maui, Lanaʻi and Molokaʻi will be closed on Wednesday, September 12, 2018.
However, state employees who fall into one of the following categories are required to report to work, unless it is determined that the employee can be excused:
• Departmental Disaster/Emergency Coordinators
• Disaster Response Workers
• Employees whose work involves continuing crucial operations/services, such as hospital workers, correctional workers, etc.
