HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) has rescheduled the eastbound H-1 Freeway closure for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project for Wednesday night, Nov. 14, 2018, through Thursday morning, Nov. 15, 2018, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m. The H-1 Freeway will be closed overnight between the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and the Wakea Street onramp, for the installation of the abutment wall.
Eastbound motorists will be directed to Kalaeloa Boulevard via the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and may continue on Kapolei Parkway, Kamokila Boulevard, and Wakea Street to return to the eastbound H-1 Freeway. Electronic message boards will be posted throughout the area to notify motorists of the full closure. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control and safety procedures. Emergency vehicles, first responders, and TheBus have been notified of the roadwork and will not be allowed through the work zone.
Other closures related to this project that are scheduled for the week of Nov. 13, 2018, are:
- Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) and the Farrington Highway offramp (Exit 1E) on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, through Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for surveying and sign installation work.
- Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Farrington Highway overpass and the Wakea Street onramp on Tuesday, Nov. 13, 2018, through Friday, Nov. 16, 2018, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for surveying and sign installation work.
HDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time and to check traffic apps before heading to their destinations. Roadwork is weather permitting.
