PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE
Posted on Dec 20, 2021 in Latest Department News, NewsroomHONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for other correctional facilities are as follows:
Kauai Community Correctional Center – KCCC admitted one (1) inmate who was confirmed to have tested positive while in the community, prior to intake. The inmate was immediately placed in medical isolation.
Women’s Community Correctional Center – Two (2) positive staff test results.
Waiawa Correctional Facility – One (1) positive staff test result.
Hawaii Community Correctional Center – 35 negative inmate test results.
Oahu Community Correctional Center – 17 negative inmate test result.
Kauai Community Correctional Center – Four (4) negative inmate test results.
In addition, the Department of Public Safety (PSD) Administration Division reports one (1) admin employee confirmed a positive test result. Notification was made to the Department of Health.
