2:00 PM – HB 2169 Social workers

Creates an option to fulfill post-master’s clinical social work experience requirements for licensure via a video conference service, rather than face-to-face supervision.

2:30 PM – SB 2811 Parental Rights

Provides that parental rights may be terminated if the court determines that the child was conceived as a result of a sexual assault.  Brings Hawai‘i into compliance with the federal Rape Survivor Child Custody Act.

3:00 PM – HB 1726 First degree murder

Broadens the offense of first degree murder to include cases where the defendant causes the death of another while engaged in certain kidnapping conduct.
