WHAT:  National Disability Employment Awareness Month:

State of Hawai‘i departments will celebrate National Disability Employment Awareness month and the signing of agreements across state government that will increase opportunities and support for the employment of people with disabilities. The program will include:

  • Governor’s proclamation on Disability Employment Awareness Month
  • Keynote speaker Patricia Morrissey, Director, UH Mānoa Center on Disability Studies
  • Employer panel
  • Recognition of outstanding training programs, agencies, Employees and employers
  • Honorary Award to Champion and Advocate presented to Sen. Suzanne Oakland Chun

WHO: Partners in Employment, including the State of Hawai‘i departments and agencies, the U.S. Department of Labor and the City and County of Honolulu

WHEN: Friday, October 28, 2016 – 10 am to 12 pm

WHERE: Hawai‘i State Capitol Auditorium
