What: Springtime at Washington Place: Celebrating Music in Our Schools honors Queen Lili‘uokalani and her vision for Washington Place, which is to preserve the Hawaiian language and music for her people.
Who: Governor David Ige, Hawai‘i’s First Lady Dawn Amano-Ige, the Washington Place Foundation and the following musical groups from Hawai‘i’s public schools:
- The Kipapa Performing Arts Program
- Kalihi Kai School Ukulele Club
- Fourtune from Kaimuki High School
- Nanakuli High and Intermediate School Performing Arts Center
When:
- Sunday, April 24, 2016
- Gates open at 1:00 p.m.
- School performances from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
- Gates close at 5:00 p.m.
Where: Washington Place
Adult guests may be required to present a photo ID upon entrance to Washington Place and may be subject to bag inspections. Large bags, coolers, and chairs will NOT be permitted on the grounds. Free parking will be available at the State Department of Health parking lot (Kinau Hale Building) off of Miller Street.
