Ten-plus locations, 47 artists, more than 90 free public programs. That’s the scope of this year’s Honolulu Biennial through May 5 with its theme, “To Make Wrong/ Right/Now.” What makes the event unique is its focus on the Pacific “to connect indigenous perspectives, knowledge and creative expressions from Asia, the Pacific and the Americas.” The exhibits feature sculpture, weaving, paintings, photography, music digital art and interactive installations, and discussions highlighting issues facing Pacific communities. The sites range from The Hub (former Famous Footwear store) at Ward Village to Foster Botanical Garden with exhibits featuring sculpture, paintings, photography, music, weaving, digital art and interactive installations and talks highlighting issues facing Pacific communities.
