PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for the correctional facilities are as follows:

Halawa Correctional Facility – 100 inmate test results; Eight (8) positive, 92 negative. One (1) positive staff test result and three (3) staff recoveries reported.

Kauai Community Correctional Center – 48 inmate test results; Six (6) positive, 42 negative. The one (1) remaining employee out due to COVID-19 has recovered.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – Four (4) inmate test results; One (1) positive, three (3) negative.

Oahu Community Correctional Center –Two (2) staff have recovered. One (1) negative inmate test result.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Two (2) staff have recovered.  33 negative inmate test results.

COVID-19 updates for other PSD Divisions are as follows:

Sheriff Division – One (1) employee has recovered.
