WHAT:          News Conference

Rising concerns over the recent increase in rat lungworm infections prompted the 2017 Hawai‘i State Legislature to appropriate $1 million ($500,000 over two years) to increase public education and improve the response to this serious parasitic disease. The Department of Health will share the state’s plan to focus on public information and education, epidemiological, and vector control efforts.
