AG NEWS RELEASES: Randy Farinas charged with escape

HONOLULU – Attorney General Douglas Chin filed felony escape charges on November 2, 2015, against Randy Farinas. Farinas was charged with escape in the second degree, a class C felony punishable by up to five years in prison.

Farinas, an inmate at the Oahu Community Correctional Center (OCCC), was being transported by van from one module of OCCC to another, when he broke through the van window and climbed out. Farinas ran across Kamehameha Highway where he attempted to scale a fence, but was apprehended by Adult Corrections Officers and returned to OCCC.

Farinas is currently incarcerated at the Saguaro Correction Center in Arizona and will be returned to Oahu to answer the escape charges.
