HONOLULU — As a mark of respect for the late former State Representative Jack Lucas Larsen, Gov. David Ige has ordered that the flags of the United States and State of Hawai‘i shall be flown at half-staff at all state offices and agencies, as well as the Hawaii National Guard, from sunrise to sunset on Saturday, September 26, 2015.

“Representative Larsen was an instrumental member of the Hawai‘i State Legislature that helped to lay the foundation of state government here in Hawaii. He was a respected leader who worked hard to represent the constituents in his district and all the people of Hawai‘i. On behalf of the people of Hawaii, I extend our heartfelt condolences to the Larsen ‘Ohana,” said Gov. David Ige.

Born and raised in Honolulu, Jack Larsen attended the University of Hawai‘i for two years before graduating from Colgate University. He was a member of the Hawai‘i State House from 1974-1980, serving twice as a Republican and once as a Democrat. Prior to his terms in office, he served two and a half years in the US Army Air Corp.  Larsen died on August 16, 2015 at his home in Del Mesa Carmel California.
