GOVERNOR’S OFFICE FLAG ORDER: Flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Shimon Peres, former president and prime minister of Israel

HONOLULU — At the direction of the President of the United States, the United States flag and the Hawai‘i state flag will be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and upon all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai‘i National Guard in the State of Hawai‘i immediately, until sunset on ­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­­Sept. 30, 2016. This action is a mark of respect for the memory of former President and Prime Minister of Israel Shimon Peres.

The former president shared a Nobel Peace Prize for forging a peace deal between Israelis and Palestinians. He served as Israel’s president from 2007 to 2014.

Shimon Peres was 93 years old.
