Hawai‘i state government’s first hackathon-inspired event, the HACC aims to engage the local tech community in modernizing how the state does business and provides services to the public. A remarkable turnout of 27 teams consisting of hundreds of professional and amateur code writers and other innovators have been working for one month to develop solutions for the state’s biggest information technology challenges. In addition to the teams competing for the $10,000 prize pool, one team will be selected to represent the State of Hawai‘i at GlobalHack in Saint Louis, Missouri next month.
