HDOT NEWS RELEASE: Pali Highway Kailua-bound lanes closed Saturday night for tunnel cleaning

HONOLULU — The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that the Pali Highway will be closed in the Kailua-bound direction between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, Oct. 17, to 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, Oct. 18, for routine tunnel cleaning and maintenance.

Electronic message boards will be displayed to notify motorists of the closure. Only City and County buses and emergency vehicles will be allowed through the work zone.

Kailua-bound motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as the H-3 Freeway, Likelike Highway, or Kalanianaole Highway and to allow for extra travel time. Roadwork is weather permitting.
