HDOT NEWS RELEASE: Public information meeting scheduled for Queen Kaahumanu highway widening project, phase 2

KONA – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be holding a public informational meeting for the Queen Kaahumanu Highway Widening Project, Phase 2, to update the community of planned construction and anticipated traffic impacts.  The meeting is scheduled at the following location and time.

This second phase of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway Widening project will widen the existing highway from two to four lanes over 5.2 miles from Kealakehe Parkway to the Kona International Airport.  The construction Notice-To-Proceed date is set for Sept. 1, 2015.  Representatives from HDOT, Goodfellow Bros., Inc., and SSFM International will be presenting details of the project.
