DHHL NEWS RELEASE: DHHL Statement on Pua Avenue in Nanakuli

Posted on Dec 9, 2019 in Latest Department News

(KAPOLEI, HI) Hawaiian Homes Commission Chair William J. Aila, Jr. has issued the following statement regarding vehicle access on Pua Avenue in Nānākuli.

“Since the inception of the Nānākuli Village Center project, Pua Avenue was planned to be used as an ingress/egress to the project. Recent concerns about increased traffic on Pua Avenue have led the Department of Hawaiian Home Lands to authorize Nānākuli Village Center to install temporary speed bumps to help reduce speeding concerns. The Department’s installation of permanent speed tables, at a later date, will be made in compliance with City & County standards. In the future, the City & County may take over the maintenance of the road with these improvements.”
