DLNR MEDIA ADVISORY: Kamehameha butterfly expert to meet with Ala Wai Elementary students

Ala Wai Elementary School invites the media to a presentation by DLNR Division of Forestry and Wildlife entomologist Dr. William Haines on the increasing population of the Hawai‘i State Insect; the Kamehemeha Butterfly.  Second graders are replicating research done by Haines and his team and as one student put it, “I can’t believe we are so smart like Dr. Haines and we are only 7 years old.”
