Posted on Jul 4, 2016 in Latest Department NewsThe presence of large groups of day-use visitors and overnight campers at Ka’ena Point State Park Reserve/Makua Section is prompting the DLNR Division of State Parks to investigate the possible implementation of management rules for this area. On weekends and holiday weekends, in particular, users have left enormous piles of garbage, defecated in the beach shrubbery, and created large bon fires; all of which cause damage to natural and cultural resources.
