U.S. Congresswoman Colleen Hanabusa and Governor David Ige will give their national and local perspectives on cancer at the Hawaii Comprehensive Cancer Coalition Summit at the Hilton Hawaiian Village in Waikiki. The Cancer Coalition will unveil the Hawaii State Cancer Plan 2016 – 2020, a vision and action document designed to reduce the burden of cancer in our state. Men and Native Hawaiians and Other Pacific Islanders (NHOPI) are more likely to die from the disease than women and other ethnicities in Hawaii, suggesting that these groups are less likely to regularly be screened.
