DOTAX PRESS RELEASE: Oahu Attorney Pled Guilty To Tax Violations

Honolulu – Local attorney Noah Fiddler pled guilty as charged to seventeen (17) counts of misdemeanor and felony tax violations today.

Noah Fiddler was charged on April 20, 2018 in District Court with five (5) counts of willful failure to pay over withholding taxes for tax years 2011 – 2015; six (6) counts of willful failure to file income tax returns for the tax years 2010 – 2015; and six (6) counts of willful failure to file general excise tax returns for the tax years 2010 – 2015.

Fiddler faces imprisonment of not more than five years, or probation and a fine of not more than $100,000 for each felony count if convicted of willfully failing to collect and pay over tax in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 231-36.4.

Fiddler faces imprisonment of not more than one year, or probation and a fine of not more than $25,000 for each count if convicted of willfully failing to file income tax returns and general excise tax returns in violation of Hawaii Revised Statutes Section 231-35.

Sentencing is scheduled for May 2, 2019.
