Governor’s Office – News Release – Gov. Ige approves Mayor Kawakami’s Emergency Rules #12

HONOLULU – Gov. David Ige today approved a request from Mayor Derek S.K. Kawakami to safely re-open more businesses, operations or activities under guidelines that will ensure the health, safety and welfare of the people of Kauaʻi county, effective June 16, 2020.

The mayor’s Emergency Rules #12 specifies conditions under which the following may open:

  • Certain accommodations
  • Bars and bar top services

In addition, the governor repealed, effective June 15, 2020, Mayor Kawakami’s Emergency Rule # 9 and any subsequent amendments.
