Governor’s Office – News Release – Governor Ige extends emergency relief period for Kaua‘i Island flooding
Posted on Dec 14, 2018 in Latest Department News, Office of the Governor Press ReleasesHONOLULU – Gov. David Ige signed a fifth supplementary proclamation relating to the heavy rains and flooding on Kaua‘i in April.
The fifth supplementary proclamation extends the provisions of previous proclamations to the extent necessary for those engaged in emergency management functions to repair, reconstruct, improve, and otherwise perform work on various roadways, bridges, infrastructure, and streams.
Gov. Ige signed the initial emergency proclamation on April 15. He signed the first supplementary proclamation on April 18 and the second on June 17. Acting Governor Doug Chin signed the fourth supplementary proclamation on October 15.
The current disaster emergency relief period continues until February 12, 2019.
