HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Oahu motorists that Aiea Access Road will be closed in the southbound direction between Moanalua Road and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, April 13, 2019, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., for electrical work. The northbound direction will remain open.

The onramp to the eastbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway from southbound Aiea Access Road will remain open. Motorists wanting to access the Salt Lake area may do so via Kamehameha Highway.

Electronic message boards are posted throughout the area to notify motorists of the closure. Special Duty Police Officers will be on-site to assist with traffic control. Emergency vehicles, first responders, and TheBus have been notified of the roadwork and will be allowed through the work zone.

HDOT advises motorists to allow for extra travel time and to check traffic apps before heading to their destinations. Roadwork is weather permitting.
