HDOT News Release: Eastbound H-1 Freeway lane closures in Downtown Honolulu begin Friday, Nov. 17

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) Highways Division notifies motorists of lane closures on the eastbound H-1 Freeway between the Liliha Street onramp and the Aala Street overpass beginning Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 for guardrail improvements. Roadwork schedule is as follows:

  • Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway between the Liliha Street onramp and the Aala Street Overpass from 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 17, 2017 continuously through 4 a.m. on Monday, Nov. 20, 2017. Four lanes will remain open.
  • Closure of the Liliha Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway on Friday night, Nov. 17, 2017, through Monday morning, Nov. 20, 2017 from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., nightly. During the onramp closure, two right lanes will be closed on the H-1 Freeway. Three lanes will remain open.

During the Liliha Street onramp closure times, HDOT advises motorists to access the eastbound H-1 Freeway via the Vineyard Boulevard onramp.

Electronic message boards will be displayed to inform motorists of the closure. Emergency vehicles and TheBus have been notified and will be allowed through the work zone. Roadwork is weather permitting.
