HDOT News Release: Full closure of Kamehameha Highway between Ka Uka Boulevard and Lanikuhana Avenue needed for emergency work on Kipapa Stream (Roosevelt) Bridge, Sunday, August 19

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) will be closing both directions of Kamehameha Highway from Ka Uka Boulevard to Lanikuhana Avenue from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 19, 2018.

The emergency closure is needed immediately for repair of one of the main bridge supports. During the ongoing bridge rehabilitation work on Kipapa Stream Bridge, a situation effecting the structural integrity of the bridge was found.

Necessary concrete repair work must be done without vehicular traffic running over the bridge. All motorists should take the H-2 Freeway as an alternate route into Mililani. TheBus and emergency responders have been informed of this emergency closure.
