HDOT News Release: Lane closure on westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway including Kaua Street onramp closure on Tuesday, Feb. 12, for tree trimming
Posted on Feb 8, 2019 in Latest Department NewsHONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) alerts Oahu motorists of a right lane closure on the H-201 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kaua Street onramp (near Ala Mahamoe Street) and the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital offramp (Exit 3) on Tuesday, Feb. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for tree trimming.
The work will start with a closure of the Kaua Street onramp from 8:30 a.m. to approximately 9:30 a.m. The work will move west with a right lane closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway between the Kaua Street onramp and the Puuloa Road/Tripler Hospital offramp (Exit 3) until 2 p.m.
During the onramp closure, motorists traveling on Kaua Street will be diverted to take a right at Ala Mahamoe Street or stay in the left lane for the ramp to Mapunapuna. Detours to the westbound H-201 Moanalua Freeway are as follows:
- Ala Mahamoe Street – Motorists may stay on Ala Mahamoe Street until Jarrett White Road to use the Jarrett White Road onramp.
- Mapunapuna – Motorists may use the ramp to Mapunapuna and use Kikowaena Street, Ahua Street, and Pukoloa Street until Puuloa Road to access the Puuloa Road onramp.
Electronic message boards will be posted to notify motorists of the closure. Motorists are advised to allow for extra travel time to get to their destinations and to drive with caution near the closure and on the detour routes. Roadwork is weather permitting.
