HDOT News Release: New traffic signal on Queen Kaahumanu Highway at Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park entrance to be active from July 12, 2018

KAILUA-KONA – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) announces the activation of a new traffic signal at the intersection of Queen Kaahumanu Highway and the entrance to the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park. The traffic signal will be activated at 9 a.m. Thursday, July 12, 2018 and was installed as part of the Queen Kaahumanu Highway Widening, Phase 2.

The traffic signal will flash yellow from 9 a.m. Wednesday, July 11, 2018 to transition motorists and allow them to get used to the new signal, which will control the flow of traffic along the Queen Kaahumanu Highway as well as traffic headed to the Kaloko-Honokohau National Historical Park and the Lanihau Properties Business Park.
