HDOT News Release: PALI HIGHWAY OVERNIGHT CLOSURES SCHEDULED IN NOVEMBER FOR TUNNEL MAINTENANCE

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) notifies Oahu motorists that the Pali Highway will be closed between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on two Saturday nights in November, for routine tunnel maintenance and cleaning. See closure schedule below.
- Pali Highway will be closed in the Honolulu-bound direction from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, Nov. 4, 2017 through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, Nov. 5, 2017.
Pali Highway will be closed in the Kaneohe-bound direction from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, Nov. 18, 2017 through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, Nov. 19, 2017.
Closure times are tentative and the road may be opened earlier if crews complete the work before the stated time. Electronic message boards will be posted to inform motorists of the closure. Emergency vehicles and TheBus have been notified and will be escorted through the work site.
HDOT encourages motorists to check their preferred traffic apps before getting on the road. Motorists are advised to use alternate routes such as the H-3 Freeway, Likelike Highway, and Kalanianaole Highway. The work is weather permitting.
