HDOT NEWS RELEASE: Public information meeting scheduled regarding the former Oahu Railway & Land company right-of-way programmatic agreement

HONOLULU – The State of Hawaii, Department of Transportation, Highways Division (HDOT) will be holding a public information meeting on Programmatic Agreement (PA) process for the former Oahu Railway & Land (OR&L) Right-of-Way (ROW). The purpose of the meeting is to provide information on the preparation of the procedural PA document for the OR&L ROW, a 40-foot wide stretch from Central Waipahu to Piliokahe Gulch in Nanakuli, owned by HDOT.
The PA document is part of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) Section 106 review for actions involving the use and/or occupancy of the former OR&L ROW.
The meeting is scheduled at the following location and time:

The public information meeting is accessible for individuals with disabilities. Pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966, as amended (2006) (Section 106), individuals, organizations, and entities that are interested in the former OR&L ROW, including Native Hawaiian Organizations and Native Hawaiian descendants with ancestral lineal or cultural ties to, cultural knowledge or concerns for, and cultural or religious attachment to the area are requested to contact HDOT via the information provided above.
Comments on the Section 106 procedural PA must be received by HDOT by Jan. 31, 2017 to be incorporated in the review.
