HDOT News Release: Weekend lane closures

The regularly scheduled nighttime work for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project will be canceled on Sunday night, Feb. 3, and will resume Monday night, Feb. 4.

OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEKEND OF FEB. 1 – FEB. 3

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, Feb. 1, through Friday, Feb. 8, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kalihi Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, Feb.1, through Friday, Feb. 8, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 10 a.m. on Friday, Feb. 1, continuously through 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, Feb. 2, for shoulder widening work.

 

  • Right lane will be closed between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Kaonohi Street overpass on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Friday from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., a third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

4) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Saturday night, Feb. 2, through Monday morning, Jan. 4, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Two lanes will be closed on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sunday morning. A third lane will be closed between the hours of 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed on Sunday night from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. A third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday morning.

5) WAIMALU TO AIEA (WEEKEND/WEEKLY/NIGHT WORK)

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass for shoulder widening work.

 

  • Friday, Feb. 1, from 9 a.m. continuously through Sunday morning, Feb. 3, at 4 a.m.
  • Monday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 8, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., daily.

Alternating lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Kahiko Street and Halekou Road on Friday night, Feb. 1, through Saturday morning, Feb. 2, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY (ROUTE 92) —

 

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Left lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in both directions in the vicinity of Ahua Street on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., for electrical maintenance work.

 

2) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in the eastbound direction at the Keehi Interchange on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for bridge deck repairs.

 

 

— KEAHUMOA PARKWAY —

 

1) KAPOLEI (24-HOUR WORK)

Lane shifts on Keahumoa Parkway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Kualakai Parkway on Friday, Feb. 1, through Friday, Feb. 8, over a twenty-four hour period, for The Rail project.

Roving lane closure on Kunia Road (Route 750) in both directions between the H-1 Freeway and Wilikina Drive on Saturday, Feb. 2, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— KALIHI STREET (ROUTE 63) —

 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lane closures on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in both directions between Dillingham Boulevard and Nimitz Highway on Sunday night, Feb. 3, through Friday morning, Feb. 8, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for manhole maintenance and loop detector installations. One lane will remain open in each direction at all times.

 

 

— MIDDLE STREET —

 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Middle Street in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, Feb. 1, through Saturday morning, Feb. 2, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., for loop detector and pavement marking installations. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

Pedestrians are directed to use the east sidewalk as the west shared use walk and bike path is closed on a 24/7 basis.

Alternating lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in both directions between North Leho Drive and Kapule Highway on Sunday night, Feb. 3, through Friday morning, Feb. 8, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road reconstruction and repaving.

 

2) WAIKOKO TO WAINIHA (EMERGENCY WORK, LOCAL ACCESS BY CONVOY)

Alternating lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions in the vicinity of Mile Markers 6.5 and 10 on Saturday, Feb. 2, to Sunday, Feb. 3, from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and on Monday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 8, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., for road paving.

 

2) NORTH HILO (WEEKEND/WEEKLY WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Hawaii Belt Road (Route 19) in both directions in the vicinity of mile marker 19.4 in Ninole on Saturday, Feb. 2, and Monday, Feb. 4, through Friday, Feb. 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for road repairs.
