OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEKEND OF APRIL 5 – APRIL 7

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

 

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, April 5, through Friday, April 12, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, April 5, through Friday, April 12, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions on Sunday night, April 7, through Friday morning, April 12, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will be closed during this time. Motorists will be detoured via Palama Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

 

  • Lane closures in the westbound direction are between Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 22) and the Liliha Street overpass.
  • Lane closures in the eastbound direction are between the Palama Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass.

 

4) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Alternating lane closure on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the westbound H-1 Freeway on Saturday, April 6, from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for bridge maintenance.

 

5) WAIMALU TO AIEA (WEEKEND WORK)

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Saturday, April 6, from 6 a.m. to 7 p.m., for shoulder widening work.

6) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND WORK)
Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Managers Drive overpass on Saturday night, April 6, from 6 a.m. to 11 a.m., for maintenance work.

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTES 93/930) —

 

1) MAKAHA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of Farrington Highway (Route 93) in both directions between Upena Street and Kili Drive at Makaha Bridge #3 on Saturday night, April 6, through Sunday morning, April 7, from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m., for bridge repairs. Motorists will be detoured in both directions via Makaha Valley Road, Ala Holo Loop, Huipu Drive, and Kili Drive.

 

 

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 61/72) —

 

1) AINA HAINA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the westbound direction between West Hind Drive and Ainakoa Avenue on Sunday night, April 7, through Friday morning, April 12, from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., for striping work.

 

2) WAIMANALO (WEEKEND WORK)

Roving right lane and shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the eastbound direction between Kanapuu Drive and Flamingo Street on Saturday, April 6, from 7 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTES 80/83/99) —

 

1) SALT LAKE (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in the eastbound direction between Salt Lake Boulevard and Ford Island on Saturday, April 6, from 5 a.m. to 10 a.m., for the Ford Island Bridge run.

— NIMITZ HIGHWAY (ROUTE 92) —

 

1) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Nimitz Highway in both directions between Rodgers Boulevard and Lagoon Drive on Friday, April 5, through Saturday, April 6, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— PALI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 61) —

 

1) NUUANU TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY CLOSURE)
Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, March 23, through Friday, March 29, over a 24-hour period, for slope stabilization work following the landslide. The Kailua-bound lanes will be temporarily open during the schedule below.

 

From Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5:

  • Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • The Kailua-bound direction will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

 

— KALAELOA BOULEVARD —

 

1) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lane closure on Kalaeloa Boulevard in the northbound direction between Kapolei Parkway and Farrington Highway on Sunday night, April 7, through Friday morning, April 12, from 8 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex Phase 2 project. Motorists wanting to access the westbound H-1 Freeway will be detoured via Kapolei Parkway, Kamokila Boulevard, and Wakea Street to the Farrington Highway onramp.

— AOLELE STREET —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

Right lane closure on Aolele Street in the eastbound direction between the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport and the H-1 Freeway onramp on Friday, April 5, through Friday, April 12, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail project. There may be additional closures during the hours of 9 p.m. to 5 a.m.  The right lane exiting the HNL parking garages leading to the toll booths will also be closed.

— KALIHI STREET (ROUTE 63) —

 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in both directions between Nimitz Highway and Beckley Street on Sunday night, April 7, through Friday morning, April 12, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for striping work.

 

 

— MIDDLE STREET —

 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure tentatively scheduled on Middle Street in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, April 5, through Saturday morning, April 6, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., for loop detector and pavement marking installations. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

Pedestrians are directed to use the east sidewalk as the west shared use walk and bike path is closed on a 24/7 basis.

KAUAI LANE CLOSURES

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

 

1) LIHUE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating two-lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in both directions between North Leho Drive and Kapule Highway on Sunday night, April 7, through Friday morning, April 12, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road reconstruction and repaving.

 

2) WAIKOKO TO WAINIHA (EMERGENCY WORK, LOCAL ACCESS BY CONVOY)
Limited access for local traffic on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) between Waikoko and Wainiha on Mondays through Saturdays from 5:50 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., due to slope stabilization work. To view the limited access schedule, please click here.

Beginning Wednesday, April 10, through Friday, April 12, the limited access convoys will run according to the Monday through Saturday (night work) due to the start of construction on the Waipa Bridge. The last convoy between Haena and Wainiha will run at 7 p.m. Please note that the 10:30 p.m. and 11 p.m. convoys have been changed and will transport to Waipa Bridge Park and Ride/Pedestrian Bridge. MAUI LANE CLOSURES

KULANIHAKOI STREET

 

1) KIHEI (24-HOUR WORK)

Closure of Kulanihakoi Street in both directions between Piilani Highway and Mahealani Street, over a twenty-four hour period, 7 days a week, for sewer and water line work. Traffic will be directed to Kaonoulu Street and South Kihei Road as an alternate route.

 

 

HANSEN ROAD

 

1) KAHULUI (WEEKEND WORK)

Closure of Hansen Road in both directions between Hana Highway (Route 36) and Pulehu Road on Saturday, April 6, from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m., for pole replacement work. Traffic will be detoured around the closure via Hookele St and Pulehu Road. More details here.
