OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEKEND OF AUG. 9 – AUG. 11

 

PLEASE NOTE:

All projects are weather permitting.

 

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Nuuanu Avenue overpass and Liliha Street overpass on Friday, Aug. 9, through Friday, Aug. 16, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, Aug. 9, through Friday, Aug. 16, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Punchbowl Street onramp and the Palama Street offramp (Exit 20C) on Sunday night, Aug. 11, through Thursday morning, Aug. 15, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will also be closed.

 

4) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Liliha Street overpass and the Palama Street overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 11, through Thursday morning, Aug. 15, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

5) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Roving alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions in the vicinity of the Punahou Street overpass on Friday night, Aug. 9, through Saturday morning, Aug. 10, from 9:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign and marking work.

 

6) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and the Wakea Street onramp on Monday night, Aug. 12, through Tuesday morning, Aug. 13, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project. Eastbound motorists will be directed to Kalaeloa Boulevard via the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and may continue on Kapolei Parkway, Kamokila Boulevard, and Wakea Street to return to the eastbound H-1 Freeway.

7) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass, for shoulder widening work.

 

  • Two lanes will be closed on Friday night, Aug. 9, through Saturday morning, Aug. 10, from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m. A third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed on Saturday night, Aug. 10, through Sunday morning, Aug. 11, from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m. A third lane will be closed from 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 61/72) —

 

1) KAILUA (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the northbound direction between Keolu Drive and Ulupii Street on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 a.m. to 1 p.m., for tree trimming.

 

2) WAIMANALO (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in both directions between Poalima Street and Kanapuu Drive on Sunday night, Aug. 11, through Monday morning, Aug. 12, from 7 p.m. to 5 a.m., for paving of the shoulder. Traffic will be contraflowed.

— KAMEHAMEHA HIGHWAY (ROUTES 80/83/99) —

 

1) HALAWA (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 99) in the westbound direction Salt Lake Boulevard and Honomanu Street on Sunday, Aug. 11, through Thursday, Aug. 15, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for slope improvement work.

 

2) PEARL CITY (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Kuala Street on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— LIKELIKE HIGHWAY (ROUTE 63) —

 

1) KANEOHE (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway in the Honolulu-bound direction in the vicinity of the Wilson Tunnel on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

2) KANEOHE (WEEKEND WORK)

Right lane closure on Likelike Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction in the vicinity of the Wilson Tunnel on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

 

 

— PALI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 61) —

 

1) NUUANU TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY CLOSURE)
Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway for slope stabilization. Pali Highway Sunday through Friday access hours are:

 

  • Honolulu-bound AM contraflow from 5 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.
  • Kailua-bound access from 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

2) NUUANU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction between the Wylie Street overpass and Pauoa Road offramp on Sunday night, Aug. 11, through Friday morning, Aug. 16, from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project. One lane will be tentatively closed from 2:30 a.m. to 5 a.m. Detour signs to Wylie Street and Nuuanu Avenue will be posted.

Lane closure on the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Kailua-bound direction between the Pauoa Road underpass and Wylie Street overpass on Sunday night, Aug. 11, through Friday morning, Aug. 16, from 8:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project. One lane will be tentatively closed from 2:30 a.m. to 5 a.m.

1) EWA (WEEKEND WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Fort Weaver Road in both directions between Renton Road and the H-1 Freeway overpass on Saturday, Aug. 10, from 6 a.m. to 12 p.m., for electrical work.

 

 

— KALIHI STREET (ROUTE 63) —

 

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in both directions between Nimitz Highway and School Street on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and on Monday night, Aug. 12, through Friday morning, Aug. 16, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for drainage work.

 

2) KALIHI (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closures on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in the northbound direction between Dillingham Boulevard and King Street on Sunday, Aug. 11, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., for sidewalk and drainage work.

 

 

— MIDDLE STREET —

 

1) KALIHI (SIDEWALK AND BIKE PATH CLOSURE)

The west shared use walkway and bike path are closed on Middle Street between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, Aug. 9, through Friday night, Aug. 16, over a 24-hour period, for the Middle Street pavement reconstruction project. Pedestrians are directed to use the east sidewalk.

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

 

2) HANAPEPE (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

1) WAILUA (24-HOUR WORK)

Lane closure on Hana Highway (Route 36) in the northbound direction in the vicinity of Wailua Valley State Wayside Park on Saturday, Aug. 10, through Friday, Aug. 16, over a 24-hour period, for utility installation work.

 

 

— PIILANI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 31) —

 

1) KIHEI (24-HOUR WORK)

No entry or exit will be allowed from Piilani Highway (Route 31) to Kulanihakoi Street in both directions, over a 24-hour period, 7 days a week, for underground utility installations.

 

 

— KULANIHAKOI STREET —

 

1) KIHEI (24-HOUR WORK)

Closure of Kulanihakoi Street in both directions between Piilani Highway and Mahealani Street, over a twenty-four hour period, 7 days a week, for the Kihei High School Phase 1 project. Traffic will be directed to Kaonoulu Street and South Kihei Road as an alternate route.

Shoulders are closed on the Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Route 200) in both directions at the Mauna Kea Access Road intersection, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week. Exercise caution when traveling through the area.

 

 

— MAUNA KEA ACCESS ROAD (ROUTE 210) —

 

1) NORTH HILO (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

Mauna Kea Access Road (Route 210) is closed in both directions at the Daniel K. Inouye Highway intersection, 24-hours a day, 7 days a week, for TMT work.
