OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF DEC. 8 – DEC. 14

All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, Dec. 7, through Friday, Dec. 14, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Kalihi Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, Dec. 7, through Friday, Dec. 14, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between Gulick Avenue and Liliha Street on Sunday night, Dec. 9, through Friday morning, Dec. 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. All westbound ramps will remain open.

4) HONOLULU

Alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions in the vicinity of the Queen Emma Street overpass on Monday, Dec. 10 through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for bridge maintenance.

5) KAHALA (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waialae Avenue offramp (Exit 26B) and Ainakoa Avenue on Sunday, Dec. 9, starting at 4:45 a.m. for the Honolulu Marathon. Eastbound traffic from the H-1 Freeway will be detoured at the Waialae Avenue offramp (Exit 26B), left at Kilauea Street, right at Malia Street, right at Ainakoa Avenue, and left at Kalanianaole Highway (right turn is prohibited). Eastbound traffic will be contraflowed in the westbound lanes on Kalanianaole Highway. The lanes will reopen when the last participant passes through the area.

6) KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK)

Lane closure on the Kalaeloa Boulevard onramp to the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for utility installations.

7) KAPOLEI
Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Makakilo Drive overpass and the Farrington Highway overpass on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sign installations.

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pearl City/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the H-1/H-2 split on Sunday night, Dec. 9, through Friday morning, Dec. 14, from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., for striping work.

10) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Monday night, Dec. 10, and Wednesday, Dec. 12, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder lane will be closed.

Two lanes will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Three lanes will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.

Roving closure on the H-3 Freeway in the Halawa-bound direction at the Harano Tunnels on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work.

2) KANEOHE TO HALAWA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-3 Freeway in the Halawa-bound direction between the Halekou Interchange and the Halawa Interchange from 8 p.m. on Saturday night, Dec. 8, through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, Dec. 9, for routine tunnel cleaning.

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTES 93/930) —

1) MOKULEIA

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 930) in both directions between Goodale Avenue and Hoomana Place on Monday, Dec. 10, through Thursday, Dec. 13, from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., for bridge maintenance.

2) NANAKULI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) between Nanakuli Avenue and Haleakala Avenue on Sunday night, Dec. 9, through Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, from 8:30 p.m. to 3:30 a.m., for temporary pavement striping and marker installations.

Sunday and Monday nights: Lane closure alternates between both directions. One lane closed at a time.
Tuesday night: Lane closure in the westbound direction only.

3) NANAKULI (NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in both directions between Nanakuli Avenue and Haleakala Avenue on Sunday night, Dec. 9, through Wednesday morning, Dec. 12, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for traffic signal installations.

4) WAIANAE (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Lane closures on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in both directions between Ala Walua Street and Leihoku Street on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., for the Waianae Coast Community Christmas Parade.

5) WAIPAHU (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Lane closures on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Paiwa Street and Pupukahi Street on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 3 p.m. to 3:45 p.m., for the Waipahu Christmas Parade.

— KAHEKILI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 83) —

1) KANEOHE

Right lane closure on Kahekili Highway (Route 83) in the northbound direction between Kahuhipa Street and Haiku Road on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sewer improvements. The bike lane and sidewalk will be closed during this time.

— KALANIANAOLE HIGHWAY (ROUTES 61/72) —

1) AINA HAINA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the eastbound direction between West Hind Drive and Ainakoa Avenue on Sunday night, Dec. 9, through Friday morning, Dec. 14, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for manhole work. Traffic will be contraflowed in the westbound lanes.

2) AINA HAINA TO HAWAII KAI (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Closure of Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in the eastbound direction between Ainakoa Avenue and Hawaii Kai Drive and westbound between Ainakoa Avenue and the H-1 Freeway on Sunday, Dec. 9, starting at 4:30 a.m. for the Honolulu Marathon.

Eastbound traffic from the H-1 Freeway will be detoured at the Waialae Avenue offramp (Exit 26B), left at Kilauea Street, right at Malia Street, right at Ainakoa Avenue, and left at Kalanianaole Highway (right turn is prohibited). Eastbound traffic will be contraflowed in the westbound lanes on Kalanianaole Highway.

Westbound Kalanianaole Highway motorists will be detoured right at Ainakoa Avenue. Motorists may access the westbound H-1 Freeway via the Waialae Avenue onramp. The lanes will reopen when the last participant passes through the area.

3) HAWAII KAI (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Closure of Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in both directions between Hawaii Kai Drive and Keahole Street on Sunday, Dec. 9, starting at 4:30 a.m. for the Honolulu Marathon.

Eastbound traffic will be detoured left at Kawaihae Street, left at Hawaii Kai Drive, right at Wailua Street, right at Lunalilo Home Road, and left at Kalanianaole Highway.

Westbound Kalanianaole Highway motorists will be detoured right at Lunalilo Home Road, left at Wailua Street, left at Hawaii Kai Drive, right at Kawaihae Street, and right at Kalanianaole Highway. The lanes will reopen when the last participant passes through the area.

4) WAIMANALO (WEEKEND CLOSURE)

Lane closures on Kalanianaole Highway in both directions between Kumuhau Street and Waimanalo Beach Park on Saturday, Dec. 8, from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m., for the Waimanalo Christmas Parade.

5) WAIMANALO (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Kalanianaole Highway in the Kailua-bound direction between Aloiloi Street and Inoaole Street on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility work. The sidewalk and bike lane will be closed during this time.

6) WAIMANALO

Lane shift and shoulder closure on Kalanianaole Highway (Route 72) in both directions between Kanapuu Drive and Poalima Street on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for roadway reconstruction and utility work.

Bike path will be closed on Kamehameha Highway in the eastbound direction between McGrew Loop and the H-201 Moanalua Freeway on Tuesday, Dec. 11, through Wednesday, Dec. 12, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

2) HALEIWA (NIGHT CLOSURE)

Lane closures on Kamehameha Highway in both directions between Weed Circle and Kahalewai Place on Friday, Dec. 14, from 6 p.m. to 7:15 p.m., for the Haleiwa Christmas Parade.

Roving lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Joseph P. Leong Highway and Kahekili Highway on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

4) HAUULA

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the northbound direction between Ahinalu Place and Kahikole Place on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for sewer work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

5) KAAAWA

Roving right lane and shoulder lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the northbound direction between Kaaawa Valley Road and Kahana Valley Road on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., for maintenance work.

6) KAHUKU
Alternating lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in both directions between Marconi Road and Pahipahialua Street on Monday, Dec. 10, through Friday, Dec. 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for soil work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

Lane closures on Kalihi Street (Route 63) in both directions between Beckley Street and Nimitz Highway on Monday night, Dec. 10, through Friday morning, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for manhole maintenance.

— MIDDLE STREET —

1) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Lane closures on Middle Street in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, Dec. 7, through Saturday morning, Dec. 8, and on Monday night, Dec. 10, through Friday morning, Dec. 14, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., for the Middle Street Pavement Reconstruction project. Traffic will be contraflowed.

Pedestrians are directed to use the east sidewalk as the west shared use walk and bike path is closed on a 24/7 basis.

2) KALIHI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
