OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 9 – MARCH 15

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

 

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, March 8, through Friday, March 15, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, March 8, through Friday, March 15, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes and shoulder closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions on Sunday night, March 10, through Friday morning, March 15, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will be closed during this time.

 

  • Lane closures in the westbound direction are between Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 22) and the Liliha Street overpass.
  • Lane closures in the eastbound direction are between the Palama Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass.

 

4) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Monday night, March 11, through Friday morning, March 15, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work. Motorists going to HNL will be detoured to Middle Street.

 

5) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Alternating lane closure on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the westbound H-1 Freeway on Saturday, March 9, from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for bridge maintenance.

 

6) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Friday, March 8, through Friday, March 15, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail project.

Closures on the H-1 Freeway Airport offramp to the airport departures in the westbound direction on Monday night, March 11, through Friday morning, March 15, from 7:30 p.m. to 5 a.m., for sign installations.

 

  • Shoulder closure on Monday through Tuesday.
  • Right lane closure on Wednesday through Friday.

 

8) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and the Wakea Street onramp on Sunday night, March 10, through Friday morning, March 15, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project.

12) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) on Tuesday night, March 12, through Friday morning, March 15, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign upgrades and replacement work.

 

13) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 6:30 p.m. on Thursday, March 14, through 4 a.m. on Friday morning, March 15, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Two right lanes will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
  • Three right lanes will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m.

14) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/DAY/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 10 a.m. on Friday, March 15, through 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 16, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Right lane will be closed between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Kaonohi Street overpass on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and a third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

From Monday, March 11, through Friday, March 15:

  • Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • The Kailua-bound direction will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.
