OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 30 – APRIL 5

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

— H-1 FREEWAY —

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions on Sunday night, March 31, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will be closed during this time. Motorists will be detoured via Palama Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

Lane closures in the westbound direction are between Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 22) and the Liliha Street overpass.
Lane closures in the eastbound direction are between the Palama Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass.

4) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)

Lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Middle Street Tunnel on Sunday, March 31, from 6 a.m. to 10 a.m., for electrical pole work.

5) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

Shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Friday, March 29, through Friday, April 5, over a 24-hour period, for The Rail project.

6) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the eastbound H-1 Freeway between the Keehi Interchange and the Middle Street Tunnel on Wednesday, April 3, from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m., for tunnel lighting work. Motorists traveling on the H-1 Freeway are advised to take the Dillingham Boulevard offramp or the Nimitz Highway offramp as an alternate route.

7) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Palama Street offramp (Exit 20C) and the Houghtailing Street offramp (Exit 20B) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work.

8) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday night, April 1, through Tuesday morning, April 2, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for sign work. Motorists will be detoured through Center Drive.

Alternating lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) on Tuesday night, April 2, through Friday morning, April 5, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for sign work.

10) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Roving right lane and shoulder lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in both directions in the vicinity of the Kaonohi Street overpass on Saturday night, Dec. 1, from 9:30 p.m. to 5 a.m. for maintenance work.

11) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the Airport/Hickam AFB/Pearl Harbor offramp from the westbound H-1 Freeway on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work. Motorists will be detoured to the Middle Street offramp (Exit 19A).

12) KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two left lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kunia offramp (Exit 5B) and the Kapolei/Ewa offramp (Exit 3) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign upgrades and replacement work.

13) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Makakilo Drive overpass and the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1) on Sunday night, March 31, through Wednesday morning, April 3, from 10 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex Phase 2 project.

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign upgrades and replacement work.

16) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Saturday night, March 30, through Sunday morning, March 31, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

Two lanes will be closed on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sunday morning. A third lane will be closed between the hours of 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction between Polinalina Road and Kaaawa Place on Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole replacement work. Traffic will be contraflowed. The bike lane and sidewalk will be closed during this time.

Lane closure on Kamehameha Highway (Route 83) in the southbound direction in the vicinity of South Golf Course Road on Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for pole replacement work. Traffic will be contraflowed. Sidewalk and bike lane will be closed during this time.

Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, March 23, through Friday, March 29, over a 24-hour period, for slope stabilization work following the landslide. The Kailua-bound lanes will be temporarily open during the schedule below.

From Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5:

Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
The Kailua-bound direction will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

2) NUUANU

Roving lane closure on the Pali Highway in the Kailua-bound direction between Waokanaka Street and the Pali Tunnels on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 7 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for maintenance work.

Right lane closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction between Coelho Way and Dowsett Avenue on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for utility work and other construction activities.

Detour on the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Kailua-bound direction between Dowsett Avenue and Nuuanu Pali Drive on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 9 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for saw cutting work.

Lane closures on the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project.

Right lane will be closed from Waokanaka Street to Dowsett Avenue from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Lane will be closed at the Funchal Street intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access to Honolulu-bound Pali Highway will be limited to school traffic only. Traffic will be detoured via South Kuakini Street.
Lane will be closed from the Wyllie Street overpass to South Kuakini Street from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Alternating lane closure tentatively scheduled on Middle Street in both directions between North King Street and Kamehameha Highway on Friday night, March 29, through Saturday morning, March 30, and on Monday night, April 1, through Friday morning, April 5, from 7 p.m. to 4 a.m., for loop detector and pavement marking installations. Traffic will be contraflowed.

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

1) HANAPEPE (24/7 CLOSURE)

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

2) LIHUE

Alternating lane closure on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in both directions between Rice Street and Anonui Street on Monday, April 1, and Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for pavement striping.

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

1) LIHUE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating two-lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in both directions between North Leho Drive and Kapule Highway on Sunday night, March 31, through Friday morning, April 5, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road reconstruction and repaving.

2) LIHUE TO HAENA

Alternating lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56/560) in both directions from the beginning of the route in Lihue to the end of the route in Haena on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for vegetation control and roadside maintenance.

3) WAIKOKO TO WAINIHA (EMERGENCY WORK, LOCAL ACCESS BY CONVOY)
Limited access for local traffic on Kuhio Highway (Route 560) between Waikoko and Wainiha on Mondays through Saturdays from 5:50 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sundays and holidays from 6 a.m. to 11 p.m., due to slope stabilization work. To view the limited access schedule, please click here.

Alternating lane closures on Maalo Road (Route 583) in both directions from the beginning of the route at the intersection with Kuhio Highway to the end of the route at Wailua Falls on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for vegetation control and roadside maintenance.

Lane closures on Hana Highway (Route 360) in both directions at mile markers 7.8 and 15.8 on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., for steel reinforcement installations and slope excavation. Traffic will be contraflowed.

2) PAIA

Shoulder closure on Hana Highway (Route 36) in the westbound direction between Ulupua Place and Alawai Road on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 7 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., for retaining wall work.

3) PAIA

Lane shift on Hana Highway (Route 36) in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Lae Street on Thursday, April 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for utility repairs.

— HONOAPIILANI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 30) —

1) KAPALUA
Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) between Fleming Beach and Camp Maluhia is limited to local traffic and emergency responders on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, between 6:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for rock scaling. Intermittent closures of 15 min or less may also occur within the closure limits.

2) LAHAINA

Lane closure on Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) in the northbound direction between Aholo Road and Lahainaluna Road on Monday, April 1, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for landscape maintenance.

3) OLOWALU (DAY AND NIGHT WORK)

Alternating lane closure on Honoapiilani Highway (Route 30) in both directions between Kapoli Street and Pohaku Aeko Street on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, for road restriping, barrier installations, and slope stabilization.

Monday night and Tuesday night – Alternating closure between 8 p.m. to 5:30 a.m. Traffic will be contraflowed.
Wednesday through Friday – Lane shifts only from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

— KAHEKILI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 340) —

1) WAIHEE-WAIEHU

Lane closure on Kahekili Highway (Route 340) between Hoauna Street and Kaukini Loop on Tuesday, April 2, through Thursday, April 4, from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for tree trimming and removal work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

Tuesday and Wednesday – Lane closure in the northbound direction.
Thursday – Lane closure in the southbound direction.

Up to two lanes closed on Kuihelani Highway (Route 380) in both directions (alternating) in the vicinity of Puunene Avenue on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., for traffic signal work.

Alternating lane closure on Mamalahoa Highway (Route 11) in both directions between mile markers 56 and 57 in the vicinity of Punaluu Black Sand Beach on Monday, April 1, through Friday, April 5, from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m., for bridge reconstruction work. Traffic will be detoured through temporary bypass bridges for the duration of remaining construction operations.
