OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF MARCH 2 – MARCH 8

 

PLEASE NOTE:

Lane closure schedules may change at any time without further notice.
All projects are weather permitting.

 

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Houghtailing Street underpass on Friday, March 1, through Friday, March 8, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, March 1, through Friday, March 8, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes and shoulder closed on the H-1 Freeway in both directions on Sunday night, March 3, through Friday morning, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp will be closed during this time.

 

  • Lane closures in the westbound direction are between Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 22) and Punchbowl Street onramp.
  • Lane closures in the eastbound direction are between the Kalihi Street overpass and the Liliha Street overpass.

 

4) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the westbound H-1 Freeway on Monday night, March 4, through Friday morning, March 8, from 10 p.m. to 4 a.m., for signage work. Traffic going to the Daniel K. Inouye International Airport will be detoured to Middle Street.

 

5) KAPOLEI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Campbell Industrial Park/Barbers Point Harbor offramp (Exit 1A) and the Wakea Street onramp on Sunday night, March 3, through Friday morning, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex, Phase 2 project.

6) KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK)

Up to two lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kunia offramp (Exit 5B) and the Ewa offramp (Exit 5A) on Monday night, March 4, through Friday morning, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work.

 

7) KAPOLEI
Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Farrington Highway overpass and the Makakilo Drive overpass on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for the Kapolei Interchange Complex Phase 2 project.

8) PEARL CITY (NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Pearl City/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) on Wednesday night, March 6, through Friday morning, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for striping work.

 

9) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the H-1/H-2 merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass on Saturday night, March 2, through Monday morning, March 4, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Two lanes will be closed on Saturday night from 7 p.m. to 9 a.m., Sunday morning. A third lane will be closed between the hours of 8 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed on Sunday night from 6:30 p.m. to 4 a.m. A third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 4 a.m., Monday morning.

10) PEARL CITY TO AIEA (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Up to three lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Waiawa Interchange and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 10 a.m. on Friday, March 1, continuously through 6:30 a.m. on Saturday morning, March 2, for shoulder widening work. The shoulder will be closed.

 

  • Right lane will be closed between the Pearlridge/Waimalu offramp (Exit 10) and the Kaonohi Street overpass on Friday from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Two lanes will be closed between the H-1/H-2 Merge and the Aiea Heights Drive overpass from 6:30 p.m. to 6:30 a.m., and a third lane will be closed from 7:30 p.m. to 6 a.m. Saturday morning.

Right lane closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Aiea Access Road overpass on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

H-3 FREEWAY

1) HALAWA TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Closure of the H-3 Freeway in the Kaneohe-bound direction between the Halawa Interchange and the Halekou Interchange from 7 p.m. on Saturday night, March 2, through 7 a.m. on Sunday morning, March 3, for road maintenance in the Harano Tunnel. The Pali Highway in the Kaneohe-bound direction will be open during closure hours.

2) KANEOHE

Lane closure on the H-3 Freeway in both directions at the Harano Tunnels on Tuesday, March 5, and Wednesday, March 6, from 10 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., for camera and sign repairs.

  • Honolulu-bound lane will be closed on Tuesday, March 5.
  • Kaneohe-bound lane will be closed on Wednesday, March 6.

 

 

— FARRINGTON HIGHWAY (ROUTES 93/930) —

 

1) MAKAHA

Alternating lane closure on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in both directions between Kili Drive and Makua Valley Road on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for paving work. Traffic will be contraflowed. Pedestrian and bicycle traffic will be limited.

 

2) NANAKULI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Right lane closure on Farrington Highway in the westbound direction between Nanakuli Avenue and Haleakala Avenue on Monday night, March 4, through Friday morning, March 8, from 8 p.m. to 4 a.m., for electrical work.

 

3) NANAKULI (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Two lanes closed on Farrington Highway (Route 93) in the westbound direction between Nanaikeola Street and Lualualei Naval Road on Sunday night, March 3, through Friday morning, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for cold planning and paving work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

Lane closure on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in both directions between Alakawa Street and Libby Street on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 9 p.m. to 2 a.m., for paving work.

 

 

— PALI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 61) —

 

1) KANEOHE TO NUUANU (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY CLOSURE)
Closure of the Pali Highway in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway over a 24-hour period, for slope stabilization work following the landslide.

 

Accessible hours on weekdays (Monday through Friday) are:

  • The Honolulu-bound lanes will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.

5) NUUANU

Lane closures on the Pali Highway (Route 61) in the Honolulu-bound direction on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project.

 

Weeknight lane closures will resume when the road closures due to landslide work at the Pali Highway Tunnels is complete.

 

  • Right lane will be closed from Waokanaka Street to Dowsett Avenue from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Lane will be closed at the Funchal Street intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access to Honolulu-bound Pali Highway will be limited to school traffic only. Traffic will be detoured via South Kuakini Street.
  • Right lane will be closed from Pauoa Road to South Kuakini Street from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
  • Right lane will be closed from the eastbound H-1 Freeway offramp to Vineyard Boulevard from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Traffic will be contraflowed.

— KAUMUALII HIGHWAY (ROUTE 50) —

 

1) HANAPEPE (24 HOUR WORK)

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge on Friday, March 1, through Friday, March 8, over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

 

 

— KUHIO HIGHWAY (ROUTES 56/560) —

 

1) HANALEI (NIGHT WORK)
Closure of Kuhio Highway (Route 560) in both directions between Kumu Road the Waikoko checkpoint at the Waipa Bridge on Monday night, March 4, through Friday morning, March 8, from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m., as part of the Kuhio Highway Emergency Repairs project. The Closure will begin after the 11 p.m. convoy into Wainiha and will end before the first convoy out towards Hanalei at 5:50 a.m.

 

2) LIHUE TO HAENA

Alternating lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56/560) in both directions from the beginning of the route in Lihue to the end of the route in Haena on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for vegetation control and roadside maintenance.

 

3) LIHUE TO HAENA

Alternating lane closures on Kuhio Highway (Route 56/560) in both directions from the beginning of the route in Lihue to the end of the route in Haena on Monday, March 4, through Friday, March 8, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for vegetation control and roadside maintenance.

 

4) LIHUE (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Alternating two-lane closure on Kuhio Highway (Route 56) in both directions between North Leho Drive and Kapule Highway on Sunday night, March 3, through Friday morning, March 8, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for road reconstruction and repaving.

 

5) WAIKOKO TO WAINIHA (EMERGENCY WORK, LOCAL ACCESS BY CONVOY)
