There will be no daytime roadwork scheduled on Tuesday, June 11, in observance of King Kamehameha Day, unless permitted.

OAHU LANE CLOSURES

FOR THE WEEK OF JUNE 8 – JUNE 14

— H-1 FREEWAY —

 

1) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Pali Highway overpass and the Middle Street underpass on Friday, June 7, through Friday, June 14, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

2) HONOLULU (24-HOUR WORK)

24-hour shoulder closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction in the vicinity of the Liliha Street overpass on Friday, June 7, through Friday, June 14, for guardrail and shoulder improvements.

 

3) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Queen Emma Street overpass and the Palama Street offramp (Exit 20C) on Sunday night, June 9, and Wednesday night, June 12 through Friday morning, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The School Street onramp to the H-1 Freeway westbound will be closed on Sunday night, June 9, through Thursday morning, June 13. Motorists will be detoured via Palama Street and Vineyard Boulevard.

 

4) HONOLULU (WEEKEND WORK)
Alternating lane closure on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Saturday, June 8, from 5:30 a.m. to 11 a.m., for bridge maintenance.

 

5) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)
Two right lanes and shoulder closed on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Palama Street offramp (Exit 20C) and the Houghtailing Street offramp (Exit 20B) on Thursday night, June 13, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for guardrail and shoulder improvements. The westbound onramp from Vineyard Boulevard to the H-1 Freeway will be closed during this time. Motorists will be detoured to Halona Street.

 

6) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Three of four lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction at the Aala Street overpass on Monday night, June 10, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for bridge repairs.

 

7) HONOLULU (NIGHT WORK)

Lane closure on the second level Airport departures and parking ramps on Monday night, June 10, Wednesday night, June 12, through Friday morning, June 14, from 8:30 p.m. to 4:30 a.m., for sign installations.

 

8) HONOLULU
Alternating lane closure on the Airport offramp (Exit 16) from the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction on Monday, June 10, Wednesday, June 12, and Thursday, June 13, from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m., for bridge maintenance.

 

10) KAPOLEI (NIGHT WORK)

One to two lane closures on the H-1 Freeway in the westbound direction between the Kunia offramp (Exit 5B) and the Ewa offramp (Exit 5A) on Wednesday night, June 12, through Friday morning, June 14, from 9 p.m. to 4 a.m., for sign work.

Left lane closure on the H-1 Freeway in the eastbound direction between the Farrington Highway overpass and the Makakilo Drive onramp on Monday, June 10, and Wednesday, June 12, through Friday morning, May 14, from 8:30 a.m. to 3 p.m., for median work.

Shoulder closure on the H-201 Moanalua Freeway in the westbound direction in the vicinity of the Ft. Two left lanes closed on Nimitz Highway (Route 92) in the westbound direction in the vicinity of Awa Street on Monday night, June 10, through Friday night, June 14,, for sewer work.

  • On Monday night through Friday morning, lanes will be closed from 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
  • On Friday night, lane will be closed from 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.

 

 

— PALI HIGHWAY (ROUTE 61) —

 

 

2) NUUANU TO KANEOHE (WEEKEND AND WEEKLY CLOSURE)
Closure of the Pali Highway (Route 61) in both directions between Waokanaka Street and Kamehameha Highway on Saturday, June 8, through Friday, June 14, over a 24-hour period, for slope stabilization work following the landslide. The Kailua-bound lanes will be temporarily open during the schedule below.

 

From Monday, June 10, through Friday, June 14 (The contraflow will be open on Tuesday, June 11, on King Kamehameha Day):

  • Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed in the Kailua-bound lanes between Saint Stephen’s Diocesan Center and Nuuanu Pali Drive from 5 a.m. and 9 a.m.
  • The Kailua-bound direction will be open from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

 

Sunday Access schedule

  • Honolulu-bound traffic will be contraflowed from 6-11:30 a.m.
  • Kailua-bound traffic will be contraflowed from 12:30 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Left turn lanes closed on the Pali Highway offramp (Exit 21A) from the eastbound H-1 Freeway on Sunday, June 9, and Tuesday night, June 12, through Friday morning, June 14, from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m., for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project. Traffic will be detoured to turn right at Pali Highway then make a u-turn at the Vineyard Boulevard intersection.

 

2) HONOLULU (WEEKEND/NIGHT WORK)

Closure of the Pali Highway onramp to the eastbound H-1 Freeway on Sunday, June 9, and Tuesday night, June 12, through Friday morning, June 14, from 6:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., for the Pali Highway Resurfacing project. Traffic will be detoured to Vineyard Boulevard where drivers may access the H-1 Freeway eastbound onramp.

  • Right lane will be closed from Waokanaka Street to Dowsett Avenue from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m.
  • Lane will be closed at the Funchal Street intersection from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Access to Honolulu-bound Pali Highway will be limited to school traffic only. Traffic will be detoured via South Kuakini Street.
  • Lane will be closed from the Wyllie Street overpass to South Kuakini Street from 9 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
  • Lane closure on the Vineyard Boulevard offramp (Exit 20B) from the eastbound H-1 Freeway from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Lane closures on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction between Upper Laulea Street and Hanapepe Valley lookout on Wednesday, June 12, 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for bridge inspection work. Traffic will be contraflowed.

 

2) ELEELE

Lane closures on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) in the eastbound direction between Wailao Road and Laulea Street on Thursday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., for line removal. Motorists will be detoured to Halewili Road.

 

3) HANAPEPE (24-HOUR CLOSURE)

The Hanapepe River Bridge on Kaumualii Highway (Route 50) between Puolo Road and Iona Road will be closed, and traffic will be shifted to the adjacent temporary bridge over a twenty-four-hour period, seven days a week. Speed limit is reduced to 25 mph.

Limited local access to Kuhio Highway (Route 560) from Waipa to Wainiha is available for vehicles with county issued placards in both directions. Schedule for the week of Friday, June 7, through Thursday, June 13, is on the following schedule:

 

  • 5:30 a.m. – 8:20 a.m.
  • 12:45 p.m. – 2:15 p.m.
  • 5 p.m. – 11 p.m.

 

On King Kamehameha Day on Tuesday, June 11, the convoy will be running on the weekly schedule. If the concrete pour is finished early, the road will be opened early on the Sunday/Holiday schedule with access between 6 a.m. to 11 p.m.
