WHAT:          Informational briefing on the Kauai Pesticide Joint Finding Study Group 2016 Report

The House Committee on Health & Human Services and Committee on Agriculture will hold an Informational Briefing to hear an overview of the Kauai Pesticide Joint Fact Finding Study Group 2016 Report and status updates from the agencies tasked with the implementation of these Joint Fact Finding Group’s recommendations.

The study is in response to public concerns about certain pesticides being used in Hawaii.

The following individuals and representatives have been invited to attend:

  • Department of Agriculture, Scott Enright, Director, or designee
  • Department of Health, Virginia Pressler, Director or designee
  • Department of Education, Christina Kishimoto, Superintendent, or designee
  • County of Kauai, Office of the Mayor, Mayor Bernard P. Carvalho Jr., or designee
  • County of Kauai Department of Water, Kirk Saiki, P.E., Manager and Chief Engineer, or designee
  • Office of Hawaiian Affairs, Colette Y. Machado, Chairperson, or designee
  • Kauai Agricultural Good Neighbor Program, Kem Lowry

Olelo will broadcast the briefing on an Oahu channel to be determined.
