Nawiliwili Road lane closures from Kanani Street to Waapa Road for resurfacing work

Posted on Jun 2, 2018 in Latest Department News

LIHUE – The Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT) advises Kauai motorists of lane closures on Nawiliwili Road (Route 58) in both directions between Kanani Street and Wilcox Road beginning on Monday, June 4, 2018. Roadwork will be scheduled weekly on Mondays through Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., except on state holidays.

Nawiliwili Road will undergo reconstruction of weakened pavement areas, cold planing and resurfacing work. The remaining open lane will accommodate traffic in both directions with flaggers on each end of the closure. During closure hours the speed limit through the construction zone will be reduced to 25 miles per hour. Roadwork is anticipated to be completed by August 2018, weather permitting.

HDOT advises motorists to use alternate routes if necessary. For an up-to-date list of our weekly roadwork schedule, please view our HDOT website at https://hidot.hawaii.gov/highways/roadwork/. For more information on this roadwork, please contact the state Department of Transportation at (808) 241-3000.
