Governor Ige appoints Brigadier General to head review of emergency management enterprise, outlines action plan following false alert

January 15, 2018

HONOLULU – Gov. David Ige addressed the State of Hawai‘i Monday, to offer his personal apology for Saturday’s false alert and the fear and anxiety it caused families across the state. He also outlined an action plan and announced that he has signed an Executive Order appointing Brigadier General Kenneth Hara, the Deputy Adjutant General, to oversee the comprehensive review of the state’s emergency management enterprise. Hara will also immediately implement necessary changes.
