PSD NEWS RELEASE: Laumaka furlough program inmate fails to return after work

HONOLULU – Work furlough program inmate Lloyd Schmitt failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center after work last night. Schmitt left yesterday morning and was supposed to return by 7:30 p.m. State Sheriffs and Honolulu Police were notified.
Schmitt was serving time for Theft 2, Unauthorized Control of a Propelled Vehicle and Promoting a Dangerous Drug 3. Escape 2 is expected to be added to his charges.
38-year old Schmitt is classified as community custody which is the lowest custody level. He is 5’7” and weighs 260 lbs. He has black hair and brown eyes.
