PSD NEWS RELEASE: Missing Laumaka work furlough inmate arrested by Honolulu Police

HONOLULU – Missing work furlough inmate Eric Walsh was arrested by Honolulu Police.  He failed to return to the Laumaka Work Furlough Center Tuesday evening. He left for work in the afternoon and was scheduled to return by 9:30 p.m.

Walsh is serving time for Identity Theft 2. He faces an additional escape charge.  His next parole hearing is scheduled for August 2017.

Walsh is a community custody inmate in the work furlough program.  Inmates in the work furlough program are either actively seeking employment or working in the community.  Community custody is the lowest classification status.
