PDS NEWS RELEASE: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE
Posted on Jun 24, 2021 in Latest Department News, NewsroomHONOLULU – The Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) reports 26 negative inmate test results and nine negative staff test results. There were 16 more inmate recoveries bringing the total active positive inmate cases down to 53 and increasing the total recoveries to 183. Staff cases remain unchanged at six. The Halawa Correctional Facility reports one positive staff case. The employee last worked on June 16.
COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The latest inmate testing results received for other facilities are as follows:
Oahu Community Correctional Center – 16 negative inmate test results
Halawa Correctional Facility – 6 negative inmate test results
Kauai Community Correctional Center – 4 negative inmate test results
PSD continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID vaccination.
