HONOLULU – At the direction of the President of the United States, Gov. David Ige has ordered that the United States flag shall be flown at half-staff at the State Capitol and upon all state offices and agencies as well as the Hawai‘i National Guard in the State of Hawai‘i, from sunrise until noon on Memorial Day, May 29, 2017.

In addition, the President of the United States has issued a proclamation calling on the people of the United States to observe Memorial Day as a day of prayer for permanent peace. The president is asking that Americans across the United States unite in prayer beginning at 11:00 a.m. local time.

Finally, in honor and recognition of fallen service members, the president also asks all Americans to observe, in their own way, the National Moment of Remembrance beginning at 3:00 p.m. local time on Memorial Day.
