PSD News Release: Department of Public Safety COVID-19 Update

HONOLULU – COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted in the state prisons and jails as well as in the contracted Saguaro Correctional Center in Eloy, AZ. The latest testing updates received for other correctional facilities are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 23 inmate test results: One (1) positive, 22 negative. One (1) OCCC employee reported a positive test result, and one (1) employee has recovered and returned to work. The total number of employee cases remains at eight (8). An additional employee is hospitalized, bringing the total to two (2) hospitalized employees.

Hawaii Community Correctional Center – Seven (7) negative inmate test results. The total active inmate cases remain unchanged at six (6). One (1) inmate is hospitalized.

Maui Community Correctional Center – Four (4) negative inmate test results.

Women’s Community Correctional Center – One (1) employee has recovered and was cleared to return to work. The facility is clear of all active COVID-19 cases.

Also, one (1) Administrative Division employee previously reported positive has recovered and is cleared to return to work. That leaves just two (2) active positive Admin. Division employee cases.
