PSD News Release: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) reports 22 inmate test results. Of that number five were positive and 17 were negative. That brings the total active positive inmate cases at HCCC to 124. There were also 21 staff results received. One was positive and 20 were negative. The number of hospitalized staff remains unchanged at two. One HCCC staff member has recovered and was medically cleared to return to full duty. Active positive staff cases now total seven.

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The latest inmate testing results received are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 33 negative inmate test results

Halawa Correctional Facility – 3 negative inmate test result

Maui Community Correctional Center – 2 negative inmate test results

Waiawa Correctional Facility – 1 negative inmate test result
