PSD NEWS RELEASE: DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY COVID-19 UPDATE

HONOLULU – The Hawaii Community Correctional Center (HCCC) reports 46 more inmates have fully recovered. That brings the total active positive inmate cases related to this outbreak down to 78 and the total recovered to 124. (Note: One previous positive/recovered inmate from September 2020 is included in online graphs). Three HCCC employees have also recovered and were medically cleared to return to full duty. Active positive staff cases now total just four. There were no new test results received today for HCCC.

COVID-19 testing is continuously being conducted statewide at all facilities. The latest inmate testing results received are as follows:

Oahu Community Correctional Center – 31 negative inmate test results

Maui Community Correctional Center – 5 negative inmate test results

The Department of Public Safety (PSD) continues to encourage all staff and inmates to voluntarily get tested and receive the COVID vaccination.
